Conditions: The weather is freezing cold with temperatures sometimes well below zero. There is not much rainfall, but snow and hail fall often; with a thick blanket of snow lying on the ground in most places. The ground can be very slippy with patches of ice and most of the rivers and lakes are frozen over.
Snowstorms and blizzards are common at this time of year, so seek out shelter quickly or you may freeze to death.
